It's been a while since I last post a blog. So, how's everyone?

I'm currently watching "Queer Eye" and I',m hooked. So what is Queer eye.

Queer Eye is an American reality television series, initially released on February 7, 2018 on Netflix. It is a reboot of the Bravo eponymous series, featuring a new "Fab Five": Antoni Porowski, food and wine expert; Tan France, fashion expert; Karamo Brown, culture expert; Bobby Berk, design expert; and Jonathan Van Ness, grooming expert. [Bobby and Jonathan is my favey]

In each episode, the "Fab Five" spend a week applying their expertise to help some individual—that episode's "hero"—to improve their lifestyle and achieve better satisfaction in their life.

The show is renowned for its representation of the LGBTQ+ community and people of color. To date, 58 episodes have been released, with the fifth season premiering on June 5, 2020, and the sixth on December 31, 2021. On April 28, 2022, it was reported that a seventh season is in the works.

The second season's first episode, "God Bless Gay," sees the Fab Five travel to Gay, Georgia, to make over a woman named Tammye. Tammye, a cancer survivor, is actively involved in her late mother's church, which is the focus of the makeover. Tammye's son, Myles, who is gay, moved back home but is reluctant to attend the church that didn't accept him when he came out. The episode is not just about Tammye's transformation but also about the Fab Five's personal journeys of acceptance and rejection by their families and churches.

Throughout the episode, the Fab Five share their personal stories of acceptance and rejection, and we see their growth and change as they help Tammye. Antoni, for instance, learns how to cook Tammye's dishes and is moved to tears by her acceptance of her gay son. Karamo gifts Tammye with a Bible, and Bobby confronts his past trauma from being rejected by the church after he came out.

The episode is emotional, inspiring, and hilarious, and it's one of the highlights of the entire series. The transformation of Tammye and her church's community center by a group of gay men in Gay, Georgia, after fifty years, is a testament to the power of acceptance, love, and growth.

This episode is just as much about the Fab Five’s change and journey as it is about Tammy’s.

Some of the highlights of this episode include:

  • Watching the Queer Eye guys step back. It’s great watching Antoni recognize that his part in this transformation was not to teach but to learn how to cook Tammye’s dishes. In the process, Tammye’s acceptance of her gay son brings Antoni to tears. “She decided to ignore that part of the bible that told her to judge him, because she saw the person her son is and she changed her mind. She said it was a religious experience, but it was her choice to change her mind,” Antoni tearfully shares.

  • The bible Karamo gives Tammye. You’ll be on your third box of tissues by the time Karamo presents Tammye with this special gift.

  • He knew you would end up together. What Tammye tells the Fab Five at the end of the show about each of them brings the entire group to tears.

  • Bobby’s transformation. The rejection Bobby received by the church when he was younger was palpable, but his ability to finally step into Tammye’s church and put that pain behind him was heartfelt and inspiring.

One of the best moments in the entire episode was when Bobby reflected on what was going to happen: “This is fifty years in the making where a community center is being fixed by a bunch of gays in Gay, Georgia.”

There’s so much laughter, raw emotion, and beauty in the first episode of Queer Eye season 2. It’s simply awesome to have these guys back.
